With regard to the interpreter, it is important to consider the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpreters. The simultaneous interpreter firstly translates the speech simultaneously from the original into the target language - as the speaker is speaking. This requires extensive training and high concentration.

Unlike the simultaneous interpreter, in the case of the consecutive interpreter, the translation is conducted after the oral performance of the speaker or after a section of the speech. One further variation is that of the conference interpreter (community interpreting). German professional conference interpreters are highly-qualified experts in multi-lingual and intercultural communication. They are predominantly employed for conventions, conferences and meetings.
