The German Chambers of Commerce Abroad are groupings of companies from Germany and other partner countries recognized by the DIHK. They represent the interests of businesses in two conries in a bilateral way, promoting trade and commerce in both directions.
The aim of the Association is the strengthening of understanding and friendship between the peoples of Britain and Germany and the stimulation of the relationship with Affiliated Societies throughout Britain.

The "DIHK" ist the Association of the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce , the umbrella organization which speaks for more than three million entrepreneurs. The DIHK is a registered association representing the central organisation for 80 Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Germany, the IHK. All German companies registered in Germany, with the exception of handicraft businesses, the free professions and farms, are required by law to join a chamber. The DIHK assists as well the german chambers abroad ("AHKs").

"DAV" (deutscher Anwaltsverein) is probably the biggest lawyers' association in Germany with more than 250 lawyers' associations which are members of DAV. Dav provides informations about any issue about legal professions in Germany (including notaries) and promotes cooperation and communication among german lawyers. Its goal is the representation of the economic, political and professional interests of lawyers vis-�-vis society, politics, and the state.

In Germany there are about 81,000 tax advisers and Groupings of tax advisers. As the profession of the tax adviser is governed by statutory regulations, German tax advisers are bound to observe the Law on Tax Advisers and the code of conduct of their profession. They are supervised by the Chambers of Tax Advisers, to which they have to belong by law. Germany�s 21 Chambers of Tax Advisers are themselves members of the Federal Chamber of Tax Advisers (the Bundessteuerberaterkammer) which represents the entire profession and looks after the interests of individual tax advisers at national level within the framework of selfregulation.
