242 German trade fairs to be hold abroad in 2010
German trade fair organisers plan to organize 242 events abroad in the next year, while in 2009 "only" 214 fair trades had been hold abroad.
Trade Fairs: an important business for German economy
German trade fair organisers are aiming to organise 157 international trade fairs at home this year. AUMA - the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry estimates the trade fair sector to produce stable results in 2010. Exhibitor and visitor numbers and rented space at trade fairs are expected to average nearly the same as at previously held events. Despite initial signs of a general economic recovery the trade fair industry is not yet expected to grow in 2010, as many of the cost-cutting measures decided upon by exhibiting companies last year will only begin to take effect now.

In the United States, two significant bills pending in Congress would adopt some of the tactics employed by Germany and other European nations to reduce emissions.
